16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?
1. Describe five ways in which you think you have human capital that is truly unique. What is it about you, exactly, that makes you different? Write this up in a detailed list.
- I’m not afraid to take responsibility in most situations that I’m in. If there is a task at hand, I have no issue in taking control over it and getting it done efficiently.
- I have great time management skills. Throughout my high school and college career, I’ve worked two jobs and attended school full-time and still manage to do well in my jobs and academics.
- I’m very open-minded and empathetic. I always try to hear people out and understand where they are coming from. I appreciate hearing about other people’s backgrounds and their ideas.
- I’m quite a decisive person. Generally, I usually know what I want. I’m confident in the decisions I make in my life.
- I have a friendly and personable personality. All my life, I’ve heard I have an approachable and easy-going personality. Funny enough, when I’m out and about with friends or family, strangers seem to always pick me out of a group for their questions or concerns. I’m always there to help people out!
2. Interview the five people who know you the best.

3) Reflect on the differences.
I see myself as someone who is always working towards my goals. I think the five friends I chose can see that in me as well. It is awarding to see my dedication to my academics, work, and social life be recognized by the people closest to me. I don’t think there is any stand out differences but I would see that most of my friends mentioned my time management and overall attitude/personality. I think those characteristics about myself are what I’m most proud of. I always try to do the best I can and make people feel welcome in my presence.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading and listening to your blog post! I think that it's such a great quality to be confident in your decisions. So many people aren't the most confident these days, and I think it's a great quality to have. I also thought that when I sat down to write my unique qualities, my friends and family had similar things to say about me. Great job!
Hey Isabella,
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I found it interesting how almost all the people you interviewed mentioned your time-management skills. That is a great and very important quality to have because people really depend on punctuality. Being late or not finishing tasks on time does not really reflect well on a person. Great job on being a punctual person!
